Germany's most popular transit subscription — the Deutschlandticket — continues into 2026 at €63 per month, unchanged from January 2025. With over 13 million active subscribers, it remains the single most widely held public transport pass in the country.
What Is the Deutschlandticket?
The Deutschlandticket, also referred to as the D-Ticket, is a rolling monthly subscription valid on all local and regional public transport across Germany. That includes buses, trams, subways, S-Bahn lines, and regional trains (RE/RB) in every federal state.
One key restriction: The pass does not cover long-distance rail services such as ICE, IC, or EC trains.
